Tripp County is location in south central South Dakota. It was created in 1873. It was then organized in 1909. The county was named after Bartlett Tripp who was a lawyer, judge, and diplomat.


Population (2010 Census): 5,644

• ​     During this census, the total area in sq miles is 1618 of which is     

        estimated to be 1,612 sq miles of land and 5.1 sq miles of water.
